Glassbrook Principal Ruben Pulido wins the award for BEST PRINCIPAL EVER! He has tirelessly coached the Glassbrook School Community to achieve new heights in education, and for the past two years, has rallied droves of volunteer families every month for our Glassbrook Community Cleanup. He has single-handedly transformed our neighborhood into a place where the Care of Neighbors tangibly shows.
We are saddened to learn he is leaving us at the end of this school year. Principal Pulido has commuted for over three years to Hayward from his home in Salinas, CA — a 1.5 hour drive each way. He has been sought out by a Catholic School in Salinas which serves low income families and has taken the job offer. We certainly can’t begrudge him replacing a 1.5 hour commute with a ten minute one.
Principal Pulido, you have inspired us all and we will miss your leadership, your hearty laugh, and your friendship! You have taught all of us the power of community, and the neighborhood uplift that occurs when ordinary people band together to do extraordinary things. We promise to carry on the excellent traditions you have built with us in our community!
We wish you the great happiness and success you so richly deserve as you continue the great task of educating our youth. Take with you our Blessing and our Love! We will miss you! You have indelibly changed our neighborhood with an upwelling of positive feeling and can-do spirit, and you have deeply touched our hearts these past three years! Godspeed!
